Warwick and Leamington Training – Honey bee Health Certificate

This year there will be a two day Honey Bee Health course (1st and 15th April 2023, 9.30- 16.30) for members who would like to do the honey Bee Health Certificate, run by Warwick and Leamington and Coventry Branches. Members from all branches are welcome to join; members must have passed the Basic Assessment to take the Honey Bee Health Assessment.
On these days we will focus on practical activities in the apiary that you may be asked to do in the assessment: disease inspection; shook swarm; making a nucleus; bailey frame change etc. The syllabus (https://www.bbka.org.uk/honey-bee-health) covers the important aspects of Bee Health and Disease and is a very positive contribution to your beekeeping skills. We will also learn about the key pests and diseases: foulbrood, nosema and varroa.
The cost of the course will be £30.
