  1. Hi,

We’ve found that we have a bumblebee nest in our attic but are due to have work start on the house (including the attic) at the end of July/start of August.

We understand from your site that they normally die out in late summer; can you be anymore specific about when this normally is?

We’d like to leave them be if at all possible, but the contractors won’t be able to start with them there.

  2. Hi
I am a member of the Coventry beekeeping association, and I work at North Leamington School as a caretaker. We want to start keeping our own honey bees and we need some equipment and this is why I am writing to you. I was wondering if any of your members have any old/spare equipment that they would be willing to donate to the school. At the moment we have nothing so anything would be gratefully appreciated. Also if there are any swarms the school can have I will gladly come and collect them. We are hoping to get four hives up and running so we can encourage young people into looking after these beautiful and very necessary insects and teach them of their importance. Thank you in advance and we will be very grateful to you for any help.
    Kind regards
    Peter Ellis

    1. Hi Peter,
Good to hear from you. I think the best thing to do is for you to contact the secretaries of the individual branches direct. I’ll forward your enquiry to them for you. Hope to meet you at the next Coventry branch meeting.
      Regards, Pete
